I use Notepad++ and also lusted for hex, so I poked around and found at least one such plug-in for Notepad++. As I recall, the only problem at the time was that I'm running the 64-bit version of Notepad++ and the plug-in was only for 32-bit versions. That was a while ago, so the community may have closed that gap by now. Check it out:
