Re: Magic users conference and brown bag details

I remember when they were organized by Dale and Heidi I'm happy that others have picked up the reins, and are doing such a great job. It is a LOT of work, so any help you can donate I'm sure will be appreciated. Heidi.Schuppenhauer On Mon, Dec 31, 2018 at 12:36 PM Goose Rodriguez <grodriguez1@...> wrote:

MAG Integration is hosting Brown Bag 2019 in Montreal in the middle of September. We hope to have the venue and dates nailed down by the end of January. I'll keep the Trello site Steve cited up to date with the latest information and send updates to this group as needed. Steve was hoping to get a jump on the snow-shoeing and ice fishing season in November. Breaks my heart to disappoint him, but our friends on the lower Mississippi have great difficulty tolerating temperatures below 60 F. Happy New Year everyone Todd On 12/31/2018 3:10 PM, Steven Blank

Re: Magic users conference and brown bag details
I don't think MSE is doing conferences in the US anymore, not since they sacked Glenn Johnson. The Magic Brown Bag conference will, I believe, be in Montreal, in November. Last year's cost was $150. Here's the link: https://trello.com/b/pqP7kIAr/magic-tech-brown-bag-conference

Re: How to add an xpa component to magic xpi 4.7?
Brenda Bullorini
I haven´t found a way to use xpa components the same way I did with xpi 3.4 or ibolt.
But you can use CallPublic function to call a xpa program. Also you can create functions in xpa and call them from xpi following these instructions Home > Mastering Magic xpi > Components > How Can I Use Magic xpa User Functions in Magic xpi?

How to add an xpa component to magic xpi 4.7?
Goose Rodriguez
Hi all,
I am doing an upgrade from Magic xpi 3.4 to magic xpi 4.7 the 3.4 version has some Unipaas 1.9k components that I need to migrade to Magic xpa 3.2d I have not found on the documentation how to do this, I imagine I'd have to export import but here's my actual question, how do I add a magic xpa component to magic xpi 4.7? I cannot find walk thru instructions on how to do this TIA

Re: Magic XPA 3.3: Very small icons on menubar
Frederik Soete
Hi Freddy, It is unfortunately not that easy indeed. And to add insult to injury: enlarging the icons does add a little bit of blur, since MSE did not intend for the icons to be scaled. They are not scalable vector graphics after all. It would have been nice to have proper icon scaling from MSE themselves, but I never really considered to ask them, and for the moment I was entirely happy with my workaround. If you insist on trying it yourself, and you were to not succeed, I can always ask my employer for permission to share the relevant part of the DotNet code for finding the icon toolbar and then enlarging the icons. (Maybe some time next week at the earliest.) Bye, Frederik Soete Op ma 24 dec. 2018 15:52 schreef Freddy Dewulf <softica@...:

Hi Frederik,
Thanks for your advice. It seems to be complicated, I thought there was a something like a special setting in magic.ini. I'll search for your comment some time ago. Have a nice time these days. Freddy Dewulf

Re: checking m3u links from magic9
Andreas Sedlmeier
Hi Andy,
Did you check which protocol the links in your play lists do use ? For http/https you'll find a lot of "URL checkers", CURL you could use for this too. Just do a HEAD request first and if the server responds with "HTTP/1.1 405 Method Not Allowed", do a GET request, jsut limit maximum time and/or maximum response size - in order to avoid having to download the complete stream - just for checking if it exists. CURL does however not support some streaming protocols which are in use, like RTPS. RTPS you can probably check with a telnet client (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Streaming_Protocol). There's also libraries. A command line utility I do not know for this. Best regards, Andreas

checking m3u links from magic9
magic9@aquari.com
Hello,
I have a database of m3u links (iptv streams) and I need to check which are still valid and which don't work. Does anyone know of a utility to use from magic 9.4 or an exec file to call from magic 9.4 that can check if a m3u link is valid (streaming)? Thanks Andy
