Magic v7
Tim Downie
Hi
Memory test here.
I have a customer who had magic v7 dev with hasp parralel port dongle on PC that has given up.
We have the installed magic folder from this broken machine on another winxp machine.....when I start up mggenw.exe Im getting "Protection Violations 15"
I can see magic is still registered etc. What do I do to get rid of the proetection viloation 15 - was there some sort of hasp driver needed ? Or should it just work?
Or is this to do with a more modern LPT port ?
I can say - i forgot about these problems in the past.
Can anyone help me pls ?

Hi -
My Phone has 3 different Android RIA apps all pointing to different servers when I build the APK i tell the it to create the txt flile on the server.
Im not sure what you mean by if anything changes in the application you need to create a new build. you only need to create a new APK should u use java.classes and add a new one or you move host.
If you are just changing the magic logic then you just republish the ecf and restart broker.
or am I not understanding the question here?

I would like to use 2 separate applications on the same android phone or tablet. The account settings on the phone are different (ie.:server) I can make 2 different files using interface builder to have 2 different file to be installed. In this case the problem is the following the server ip or hostname in the created file is fixed. And if anything changes inthe application I have to create a new one and deploy again to all phones and tablets. Is there any other possibility to use 2 or more different magic applications? Servers, application settings and broker can vary. May be on one server magic uses mgrqcgi on the other mgrqispi. Regards, Viktor

Hi
I use Pixels when I want to have pixel perfect images on my form. When using other unit, Magic XPA sometimes do a very little resize of the image, and the quality is then lower. Best regards, Karl Alexandersson

Hi,
just create a .Net variable (System.Windows.Forms.Form) and initialize it with DotNet.System.Windows.Forms.Form.ActiveForm for example. Then in Timer event update form text with whatever you need, ie. DNSet(A.Text,TStr(Time(),'HH:MM')). HTH Jacek

Hi Wes,
pixel forms seem to work much quicker from my testing. Especially when you use some mouse/positioning events. Cheers Jacek

I can't download the notes. I get
This site can’t be reachedThe connection was reset.

Re: MAGIC Download Site is Down
Mike, I can connect and login, I can search and receive a list of
files, AND I can click on the release notes for v3.3e and download
them, but as soon as I click on the actual download for v3.3e, I
get "Connection was reset" in the file list frame. Steve Blank

Re: GPF Errors Running xpa 3.3a on a RDP Server
Mike Bannon
I’m not sure I understand you. Are you saying that you are running a 3.3e ecf under release xpa 3.3b? If so, it suggests that it’s the 3.3b that fixes the problem. The 3.3e ecf only holds the instructions to control the Magic engine. In my view it’s unlikely that the version of the ecf would cause or solve this problem, rather than the version of the engine itself. I may be wrong, though.
Also, my understanding is that the requirement for the OLE DB Driver 18 came in with V3.3b. So, they would still have to upgrade their machines. Maybe they are already running the updated driver?
Regards Mike P.S. – It’s best to reply to the group, rather than just to me, as the thread may be of interest to someone else in the group.

Dear Sir
we don’t upgrade terminal server xpa versions. It is now xpa3.3b. but we copy the xpa 3.3e ecf into terminal server. Then it don’t ask odbc update.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.
I was afraid that this may be an answer! The reason we only upgraded them to 3.3a was that from 3.3b and above, it requires a new version of the ODBC OLE driver for SQL server, which would have had to be updated on all their machines. This was seen as not feasible at the time, but if this is definitely the fix, then I suppose they’ll just have to do it.

Dear Sir
Update xpa into 3.3e version. the problems are solved maybe. Because we have lot of issues regarding 3.3b with rdp. Now we upgrade into 3.3e all problem solved.
