Magic 8.3 Hotfudge

Ruben Dexter David

Hi,

Good day!

Maybe you have a hidden hotfudge installer for the Magic 8.3 version, I just need to play a video in a form.

Thank you,
Dexter

Hi Dexter,

You can use a player with ActiveX and place it on your form. Magic v8.3 has support for this as far as I remember.

Kind regards,
André

Hi,

I try putting OLE in a form and use ActiveX OLE class, but somehow the video doesn't play, any other configuration?

Thank you,
Dexter

I'll have source and installer somewhere but it's not immediately to hand.

Honestly, so much has changed in the past 10-20 years I'm not sure any of it is relevant and to launch video, well embedded browsers based on ie have died so it's best simply launching a youtube or vimeo link.

As an aside, for the first time in as many years, I just bought Delphi 11 as a Xmas present to myself so I can develop native cross-platform mac and linux and mobile things. I haven't touched Delphi since the heady days and sleepless nights of HotFudge development.

Now with Magic and Delphi, I can once again work on both of the World's least popular development tools. :-)
No, wait, there's always a downward slope to IMAware.

Craig, I just discovered there’s a new version of Powerbuilder out so you could add that to your toolbox too!

Hi,

Thanks for the response :)

Sir Craig, I am willing to wait for the hotfudge installer, I know I can also see in hotfudge how to embed browser-based video

Thanks
